Hydrocodone 10 mg/325 mg Watson Tablets is the powerful main ingredient in narcotic painkillers for moderate to severe pain. It is often administered orally to treat short-term dental and injury-related pain.

People who use hydrocodone over a long period of time or in larger doses may start showing symptoms of hydrocodone addiction.

Zohydro is considered an “opioid,” or a semi-synthetic opiate. It’s similar to drugs like morphine, codeine and oxycodone.

Zohydro relieves pain by binding pain receptors (opioid receptors) in the central nervous system. This weakens the signal for pain in the brain and can produce feelings of elation.

Zohydro is an opioid painkiller used in combination with other ingredients including acetaminophen and ibuprofen. Different ingredient combinations are prescribed for different uses. For example, some hydrocodone combination medications are used for moderate to severe pain relief. Others are used to treat a cough. Any painkiller that contains Zohydro requires a doctor’s prescription

Zohydro combined with acetaminophen is also known as Vicodin, Lortab, Lorcet, Norco, Anesxia, Co-Gesic, Ceta-Plus, Hydrocet, and Zydone. When combined with ibuprofen, it is known as Vicoprofen.

HOW HYDROCODONE 10 MG/325 MG WATSON TABLETS WORKS

Zohydro is an opiate analgesic that is always taken in combination with at least one other type of medication. It works by changing the way the central nervous system responds to pain in the body. A hydrocodone combination that is used to treat a cough works by decreasing activity in the part of the brain that causes coughing.

It is available in both short-acting and long-acting, or extended release, forms of pain control. Hydrocodone products come in the forms of tablets, capsules, and syrups. If you are prescribed hydrocodone, it is important that you take your medication exactly as instructed by your doctor.

SIDE EFFECTS OF HYDROCODONE

Like all medications, hydrocodone has side effects. Contact your doctor immediately if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

  • Nausea and/or vomiting
  • Constipation
  • Anxiety and/or mood changes
  • Confusion
  • Dizziness or lightheadedness
  • Difficulty urinating
  • Dry mouth and throat
  • Itching and/or rash

Other side effects are more serious. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience tightness in the chest or slowed or irregular breathing.

  • Slowed or irregular breathing
  • Chest tightness

HOW HYDROCODONE IS USED

Zohydro 10 mg/325 mg Watson Tablets is combined with acetaminophen (the active ingredient in Tylenol) or ibuprofen in brand names such as Vicodin, Norco and Lortab. The Food and Drug Administration has also approved a pure hydrocodone product known as Zohydro.

Those abusing Zohydro may crush up their pills and snort or inject the contents. In 2014, lawmakers recognized the increasing dangers of abuse and addiction of Zohydro combination products such as Vicodin and changed them from a Schedule III to Schedule II controlled substance.

HYDROCODONE BRAND NAMES

There are several versions of Zohydro marketed in the United States. Those with an addiction to Zohydro likely have a specific brand they prefer. This could be based on many reasons that are both practical and psychological.

Interactions

Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. Keep a list of all the products you use (including prescription/nonprescription drugs and herbal products) and share it with your doctor and pharmacist. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor’s approval.

Some products that may interact with this drug are: certain pain medications (mixed opioid agonist/antagonists such as butorphanol, nalbuphine, pentazocine), naltrexone, samidorphan.

The risk of serious side effects (such as slow/shallow breathing, severe drowsiness/dizziness) may be increased if this medication is taken with other products that may also cause drowsiness or breathing problems. Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other products such as other opioid pain or cough relievers (such as codeine, oxycodone), alcohol, marijuana (cannabis), drugs for sleep or anxiety (such as alprazolamlorazepam, zolpidem), muscle relaxants (such as carisoprodolcyclobenzaprine), or antihistamines (such as cetirizinediphenhydramine).

Check the labels on all your medicines (such as allergy or cough-and-cold products) because they may contain ingredients that cause drowsiness. Ask your pharmacist about using those products safely.
